From the East

Hello to my all my Brothers and Sisters. Hope everyone is finding a way to enjoy the beautiful summer weather that has finally arrived. There are some different things starting to go into motion at Fellowship lodge and with many of these we certainly need the assistance of all. From every member of Fellowship Lodge #265, to the others that meet or use Fellowship Lodge the building.

Let’s start with some good news: Currently we have a Master Mason degree set up and we are preparing for the degree to happen on Saturday August 28th. Starting at 9 am. We should have 5 Brothers ready to be raised.

The Entered  Apprentice’s that have not been passed are still working on ways to come in and work more on their catechism. Many have a lot of different things going on and we respect that they must get that done. We’ve also gotten a new petition that will be balloted on July 27th.

Now for the bad news: Once again with the rainy season upon us we’ve found many areas of our roof that are leaking. We can no longer keep patching up our roof. A new roof and new A/C units need to be installed. I as Worshipful Master have requested that anyone with experience and knowledge in this area to please help us. We are looking for quotes to have both the roof and A/C units replaced. These quotes must be turned in prior to our FIRST stated meeting in AUGUST. (August 10th) If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or any of the officers. There also has been a fundraiser put together so that we can help to raise the needed money. If you are interested in taking part in this event, after you’ve gotten your team together contact Brother Plotz and give him the needed information.  Please make sure to turn your money in early.

Brothers of Fellowship Lodge I hope that you can at some point this year come to a stated meeting. I know we are all busy, but please take a night and come and show your lodge some support.

All Officers especially don’t forget the Masonic Leadership Training classes coming up here. It is held at Fellowship Lodge on August 14th. Hope to see you all there.

 Fraternally,

Junior Torres, WM

From the West

Brothers, we are in the process of preparing to raise a great group of Brothers to the degree of Master Mason in August. With that being said, if you haven’t attended Lodge, this will be a perfect time to attend, and welcome our newest Master Masons. Next I want to talk about the condition of our building. Unfortunately we have discovered leaks throughout the building, and the more we look at it. We might be forced into replacing the roof. With that being said, if you know of any Commercial Roofing, and AC companies please contact me spfontaine@aol.com by August 10, 2010 with the company contact information, or contact our secretary. Finally, we are working on a Bowling Tournament, and also a Chili Tournament to raise money to help with the repairs to our roof. The Bowling Tournament will be held on Saturday September 18, 2010 at the AMF University Bowl from 8:00 pm till Close. The Chili Tournament will be held Saturday October 2, 2010 at Fellowship Lodge from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Brothers and Sisters please support our fundraising events as we try to raise money to repair our Lodge. Also, if you have any fundraising ideas, please contact me, or if you are able to assist please let me know. Once again, I would like to thank everyone for making this year successful.

From the desk of the Secretary

Brothers,

Brothers and Sisters First off let me say we have had to make emergency repairs to our roof over the dining room as we had an unwanted skylight appear and after meeting with several roofers the results are the same and the present roof needs to come off and be replaced. The insulating material between the tar and gravel roof and the metal under it is wet, with the metal rusting and caving in on us. That said we are looking at an estimated $40,000 to $50,000 worth of repairs to our building. Our building maintenance fund has less than $1,000 in it at present after all the repairs over the last several years. We have contacted Grand Lodge to find out what we need to do so we can acquire a loan to pay for these repairs. The last time we had a mortgage was up until 1987 and if my memory serves me right it was a brother who held the mortgage, which we paid off early. Food for thought if 50 people would donate $1,000, or 100 donate $500, or 200 donate $250, 400 donate $125 we would not have to apply for a loan.

Masonic Leadership Training is very important to all elected and appointed officers, but open to all Master Masons that want to attend.

Check the schedule in the announcements area for dates and times.

Delinquent dues notices have gone out, so if you have not yet paid your dues please do so as they are important for us to maintain the lodge. Our membership has gone from a high of 940 down to 295 at present.

From the Chaplain

Keep those who are battling severe illness or distress and don’t want their names mentioned in our prayers. If you can quietly let the Chaplain know to send a card or please send a card yourself for us, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you know of any sickness or distress let the Master, secretary, or myself know. We all know the power of prayer, so let us increase the power of prayer and we can let the person know with a card too.
